I broke the site. Fixing it even now.

The title pretty much says it all. Hopefully I’ll have things working shortly.

well in that case -throws away wrench and gets metal bat-

it’s like the old saying goes if you don’t solve it with violence. you apparently aren’t using enough.

I tried navigating with Safari… the archive will get a page (where IE wouldn’t), but the nav links on the front and newest archive comic only went to the newest archive comic.

This is the reason I got Safari. I still have IE because of all the stuff it can do that Safari apparently can’t.

A few things I noticed while looking for bugs and didn’t notice anyone bringing them up:
1. Firefox and IE8 (at least for me) behave the same now, which is good because you can navigate the entire archive in both of them now.
2. There is some error on line 3863 which is causing a whole bunch of warning messages to appear on comics 1-593 at both the top of the page and at the top of the comic frame.
3. The 404 error page is also littered with these warnings making it appear completely broken.
4. The sidebar image clipping problem is not only present on the front page, but also in the blog area. However, the archive seems to not be affected by this issue.
5. The “Between Failures” logo image and navigation button images seem to missing on all pages except the front page.

In positive news, all the pages seem to be intact and accessible, and as an odd note, the “Art” section seems to be completely unaffected by this problem as it still has the old style and everything.

Yes, I appreciate the heads up. The site didn’t regenerate its thumbnails when i repaired the posts. I think I found them all now. The other stuff I’m still trying to figure out. As far as the other links and stuff go, they work because they were made in old school html and are not part of the WordPress thing.

I posted this in the other section, but I’d figure I should post it here too.

If you append “comment-page-1″ to any page’s url in the archive, you get the same style as the front page, instead of the gray/white background and the text links for the “Between Failures” logo and the navigation buttons.

I don’t know why this works, it just does, maybe this could help with your bug fixes. :/

Have you tried sacrificing virgins to volcanic craters before performing surgery on the code? That normally worked for me back when I was taking Web design… still failed the class, but I made the pages look durn pretty! lol
